Sarah Mirza, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs
Today, my guest is Sarah Mirza, a Partner at Squire Patton Boggs who guides clients in building valuable patent portfolios in the electronics, software and technology industries. Her clients range from entrepreneurs and early-stage startups to Fortune 100 companies. Sarah’s academic training at MIT, practical experience as a software engineer and extensive legal experience uniquely position her to not only address client needs efficiently, but also to handle the most complex technical and legal challenges.
Sarah specializes in computer science matters, including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), machine learning, system architectures, network and computer security, and data analytics, as well as medical imaging and drug development. She understands her clients’ technologies and develops tailored patent strategies according to their business objectives. Sarah’s practice also includes enforcing her clients’ patent and other IP assets, as well as developing and executing defensive strategies with respect to third-party patent assets. She routinely performs invalidity and infringement analyses and has been involved in post-grant proceedings at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Sarah hold a JD from Santa Clara University and a BS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
