Derek Foran, Partner at Steptoe

Today, my guest is Derek Foran, a Partner at Steptoe who represents public and private companies in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. Considered a litigation “heavy weight,” his practice focuses on high stakes trials and commercial litigation. 

Derek has extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial matters in state and federal trial courts and in private arbitration. Most recently, Derek secured a complete defense verdict on behalf of Lattice Semiconductor in a case seeking over $82 million in compensatory damages. After an 11-day trial the jury returned a verdict for Lattice in less than two hours. Derek is originally from Ireland and holds a JD from Cornell Law School, an H. DIP from University College Dublin in Irish Folklore and a BA from St. Patrick’s College.
