Carla Swansburg, CEO of ClearyX

Today, my guest is Carla Swansburg, CEO of ClearyX where she is responsible for all aspects of building and growing the ClearyX business, including developing strategies for new and innovative models of legal service delivery for the firm and its clients using unique combinations of people, process and technology. ClearyX is a fully remote, tech-forward team focused on reimagining how legal services can be delivered in ways that provide improved efficiency, high quality work product and a better client and user experience.

Prior to ClearX, Carla was the Vice President and General Manager (Canada & Latin America) of another alternative legal services provider. She began her legal career as a litigator in private practice, then moved in-house at one of Canada’s largest banks where she led the banking disputes and investigations team. Carla then served as the Chief Innovation Officer at a large Canadian national firm. She served as one of the first Presidents for the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (2008-2009). Carla obtained a B.A. in Theatre Studies (1989) and LLB/JD from Dalhousie University (1993), and an MBA from Rotman/University of Toronto (2018) where she graduated on the Dean’s List and as a Bregman Scholar.
