Carolyn Herzog, Chief Legal Officer, Elastic

Today, my guest is Carolyn Herzog, the Chief Legal Officer at at Elastic where she is responsible globally for all legal, regulatory, compliance and public affairs matters for the company and provides strategic counsel to the CEO, Board and leadership team on a broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory issues. Prior to Elastic, Carloyn was the General Counsel at Arm Ltd. and held senior leadership roles at Symantec Corporation, which acquired AXENT Technologies, Inc. where she was General Counsel. Prior to this, Carloyn worked in the international development sector, both at a nonprofit and for the World Bank, in the Africa Department.

Carolyn also serves on the global board of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the global board of the Business Software Alliance and on the board of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. She has regularly served on the Advisory Board to the ACC Foundation Cyber Summit, the Host Committee for LaddHerUp, an organization dedicated to GCs supporting young women law firm associates in their early career business development, and the GC BootCamp for ChIPs (Chiefs in Intellectual Property), a nonprofit professional organization that advances and connects women in technology, law and policy. Carolyn holds a a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
