Shahram Seyedin-Noor, Founder of Civilization Ventures
Today, my guest is Shahram Seyedin-Noor, the Founder and General Partner of Civilization Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on supporting cutting-edge innovations in health tech and biology. As the first check and often lead investor in companies such as BilliontoOne, Omada, Rewrite (acq. by Intellia), Replace (acq. by Tome), Lemonaid (acq. by 23andme), Singular Bio (acq. by Invitae), Rocket Pharma (listed on Nasdaq), Palamedrix (acq. by SomaLogic), Foresight Diagnostics and many others, Shahram takes an active role in company building.
Prior to founding Civilization Ventures, Shahram was the founding CEO/Chairman of Inspirna, an oncology therapeutics company currently in Phase 2 human trials, and the CFO and VP of Corporate Development at NextBio, a genomics software pioneer acquired by Illumina. Shahram began his career in Silicon Valley over 20 years ago and advised some of the world’s top technology leaders while at Goldman Sachs. He earned his JD from Harvard Law School and obtained a BA in Economics from Pomona College.
