Rich Hung, Partner at MoFo
Today, my guest is Rich Hung, a Partner at Morrison Foerster and Global Co-Chair of its Litigation Department. He previously co-led the firm’s IP Litigation Group and the cross–disciplinary Intellectual Property Group for over a decade. He brings his knowledge as a registered patent lawyer and a Federal Circuit clerk to lead complex technology matters for clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts.
He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in high–stakes patent litigation, competitor‑on–competitor cases, non–practicing entity assertions, and trade secret misappropriation disputes—obtaining consent judgments in multiple cases.
Outside of his law practice, Rich has successfully completed 4 Ironman Triathalons which is comprised of a 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.2 km) bicycle ride and a full marathon 26.22-mile. It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. Rich is currently training for his 5th Ironman, which he says will be his last.
Rich holds a B.A. and B.S. from Stanford University and a JD from Columbia University.
