Michael Maltese, Director of Innovation at Cisco

Today, my guest is Michael Maltese, someone who is passionate about sourcing, incubating and applying innovative ideas. As director of Cisco’s innovation team* in Asia Pacific, Japan and China, Michael oversees the innovation centers in Singapore, Japan and Australia, as well as programs in India and across the region that support innovation. Michael spent nearly a decade in academia, including serving as the founding managing director of MIT’s Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship and as a fellow at Stanford and Harvard. Michael has run two start-ups [Malltip and Last Mile], founded an NGO in Africa [Global Medical Knowledge], worked on the investment team at Matinda Capital and directed business development for Originate.
